In April 2023, Alibaba Cloud released the Cluster Edition of ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL that offers enterprise-level features, such as readable secondary nodes. This new edition is ideal for read-heavy workloads, and it delivers better performance and cost-effectiveness than the Enterprise Edition. As a result, we have decided to retire the Enterprise Edition of ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL, which means you will not be able to purchase this edition after August 31, 2023. If you are currently using the Enterprise Edition of ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL, we strongly recommend that you upgrade and migrate to the Cluster Edition as soon as possible. This will ensue you enjoy the benefits of the latest features and avoid any service disruption. Impacts:
1.From the EoS date, you will NOT be able to buy EoS related instance either in a subscription manner or in a pay-as-you-go manner.
2.From the EoS date, features will be no feature updates for EoS related RDS edition.
3.From the EoS date, you can no longer upgrade or change the specifications of an RDS instance to the EoS related types.
4.For existing RDS instances of EoS related types, functions include renew, change specification, and upgrade will be not affected. While functions that results in the creation of a new RDS instance will be no longer available from the EoS date, including clone, rebuild, and restore to a new instance from backups.

•If you are currently using the Enterprise Edition of ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL, we strongly recommend that you upgrade your RDS instance to the Cluster Edition at the earliest opportunity.
