[Alibaba Cloud] [ApsaraDB for Redis] [Notice on The Upgrade of ApsaraDB for Redis Encryption Feature From SSL to TLS]

To further enhance the security features, the encryption protocol used by ApsaraDB for Redis will be upgraded from Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to Transport Layer Security (TLS). Compared with the SSL protocol, the TLS protocol provides better encryption technologies and enhanced security. So far, TLS protocol has become the widely used standard cryptographic protocol to provide communications security in modern networks. If you are using ApsaraDB for Redis, we recommend that you pay close attention to details of the schedule as below.
Effective Date: May 24, 2023 (UTC+8)
Impacts:
● As of effective date (May 24, 2023), SSL cannot be enabled for ApsaraDB for Redis instances, TLS will be supported as alternative.
● ApsaraDB for Redis instances that have enabled SSL before the effective date can continue to use the SSL feature, including SSL certificate update, SSL disabling, and connecting to instances via SSL will not be affected, but re-enabling after disabling will no longer be supported.
